HOOPS Communicator 2022 X Licensing Failure

Background

We were made aware of a licensing problem affecting HC 2022 X users (specifically converter, authoring and streaming workflows) reported on 30 June 2022. The license reports as expired. Generating a new license will not work.

If you have this situation in production, the most expedient temporary solution would be to roll back to a version before HOOPS Communicator 2022 (until patched versions of 2022 are available). Such versions (e.g. HC 2021 SP2 U2) do not have this problem. Models converted using HC 2022 X will need to be reconverted.

We sincerely apologize for this emergency and huge inconvenience! The cause of this failure has been identified and a solution has been implemented requiring an Update release for all platforms. Updated distribution packages are expected to be available no earlier than the end of business Friday, July 1 US Pacific Daylight Time.

We are working to resolve this problem as quickly as we possibly can.

This article will be updated as developments warrant.

Update Jul 11, 2022 20:25 PDT

HC 2022 U3 has been released to resolve the license failure with HC 2022 U2.

Update Jul 1, 2022 18:27 PDT

A new release of HOOPS Communicator 2022 SP1 U2 is now available from the latest Communicator downloads landing page. This version should be used rather than any of the other HC 2022 versions.
