Both 2D and 3D workspaces contain a scale bar. The scale bar shows how much distance a couple of physical inches represent virtual workspace inches.

As you zoom in or out the scale changes providing perspective on the size of the model or part allowing you to estimate distances quickly.

The scale bar shows the measurement units that your workspace is currently using and converts the scale appropriately.

 

 Enable the 3D Scale Bar

To enable or disable the 3D Scale Bar,

  1. Click the Display icon from the 3D toolbar.
  2. Select Scale Bar

Also change units from the units icon and the scale automatically recalculates and displays in the selected units.

 Enable the 2D Scale Bar

 To enable or disable the 2D Scale Bar,

  1. Click the Display icon from the 2D toolbar.
  2. Select Scale Bar

Also change units from the units icon and the scale automatically recalculates and displays in the selected units.

 Setting up the 3D Scale Bar

Set up the default behavior of the 3D scale bar to personalize your 3D workspace experience.

To set up the 3D Scale bar,

  1. Click Options > 3D Viewer.
  2. Search for "scale bar".
  3. Check Scale Bar Enabled to have the 3D scale bar appear by default.
  4. Select the location of the scale bar.
  5. Click Apply Settings.

 

 

 Setting up the 2D Scale Bar

 Set up the default behavior of the 2D scale bar to personalize your 2D workspace experience.

To set up the 2D Scale bar,

  1. Click Options > 2D Viewer.
  2. Search for "scale bar".
  3. Check Scale Bar Enabled to have the 2D scale bar appear by default.
  4. Select the location of the scale bar.
  5. Click Apply Settings.
