This page brings together all the changes that will be faced by an existing RedSDK partner wishing to adopt the new versions released under the HOOPS Luminate name.RedSDK is becoming HOOPS Luminate with the release of our HOOPS Suite 2024 release in December 2023. Significant changes with this release are highlighted here for our existing RedSDK partners attention.
Changes of Note
Upgrade to HOOPS Luminate
There is no obligation to upgrade to HOOPS Luminate, the . Your current license will still work. But you will need continue working. If you desire the benefit of bugs resolved after RedSDK 5.3, you are encouraged to upgrade to HOOPS Luminate if you want to benefit from all the fixes introduced after RedSDK 5.3, which will be the only product supported.The list below covers most of the differences between the old and new licensing systems. Additionally, HOOPS Luminate becomes the officially supported release version.
HOOPS Licensing

Our partners will need to use the Unified HOOPS licensing to use HOOPS Luminate.
The HOOPS key will give HOOPS Luminate requires a HOOPS license available from the https://developer.techsoft3d.com/start, if you don’t have it already. You may need to register a new account for Access to the NEW Developer Zone.
The license key provides access to all platforms and modules.
This does not change the The key supports your current entitlements and components on the platform your software is shipped on or which component you include in ityour shipping platform(s).
HOOPS Luminate

Packages
The Developer Zone provides one HOOPS Luminate package (i.e. zip archive) per platform. Download the package(s) of interest. The new packages are 100% compatible with the old ones. All you need to do is update the folder Extract the package into the appropriate location.
We currently do not have a The package for Win32 , as we are planning to stop the support for Win32 in the future.All that is in the old package is still present, exception made for is not available as this platform will be deprecated soon. If you require this package, please contact us.
The contents of the HOOPS Luminate package remains consistent with RedSDK. However, the Config Recommendation tool - used to check if support for a specific graphic card and driver was supported - which will be has been removed. This tool is an obsolete tool, which has been updated in years as now Windows takes care of largely obsolete with Windows driver compliance. The existing one from Use the RedSDK 5.3 is still good version of the tool, if necessary.
For the first iteration, we are changing the package names and labels to HOOPS Luminate but keep the version consistent to the current system (i.e
5.4
). In a future release, we will move to2024.X
