 Point Coordinates

Determines the X, Y, and Z coordinates of a point on the model.

 Arc Center Coordinates

Determines the X, Y, and Z coordinates of the center of an arc on the model.

 Edge Length

Measures an existing straight line on the model. The edge is highlighted when the pointer is properly positioned.

 Thickness

Measures the distance between a surface you pick and the nearest surface.

Every surface has a normal, that is, a vector perpendicular to the surface. When you pick a point on a surface, SpinFire Ultimate searches the normal in the opposite direction until it comes across another surface. The thickness measurement is the distance between the point on the surface you picked and the corresponding point on the opposite surface.

 Point to Point

Measures the distance between two points that you select on the model. By default, this command measures a line directly connecting the two points.

You can also choose to measure the distance between two points with respect to the X-, Y-, or Z-axis by selecting the appropriate radio button in the dialog box. To change an existing measurement, mouse over the markup label and right-click to access the context menu.

 Point to Edge

Measures the distance between a vertex point and an existing straight edge on the model.

 Arc Center to Edge

Measures the distance between the center of an existing arc on the model and an existing straight edge on the model.

 Arc Center to Arc Center

Measures the distance between the centers of two existing arcs on the model.

 Arc Center to Surface Point

Measures the distance between the center of an existing arc on the model and an existing surface point on the model.

 Surface Point to Surface Point

Measures the distance between two points on two surfaces or on the same surface on the model.

 Surface Point to Edge

Measures the distance between a point on a model surface and a selected edge.

 Tube Length

Measures the length of a tube between first and last radii selections—generates the total centerline length.

Exports a .csv file containing the following information:

 Sum of Connected Edges

Measures the sum of any number of connected edges selected by the user.

 Minimum Distance...

Calculates the most direct distance between two sets of points or surfaces.

 Minimum Thickness...

Calculates the minimum thickness of a set of points or surfaces.

 Minimum Distance Between Edges

Measures the distance between two edges of the model.

 Minimum Distance Between Two Surfaces

Calculates the most direct distance between two surfaces.

 Minimum Distance From Arc Center to Surface

Calculates the most direct distance from a selected arc center point to a surface.

 Boundary Center by Edges

Measures the center point of a boundary defined by connected edges. SpinFire Ultimate will automatically find the connected edges that form the boundary and then determine the center point.

You may need to click more than one edge for SpinFire Ultimate to be able to determine the boundary center. For example, if you click an edge on a cube, SpinFire Ultimate will not know which square boundary you want to define. When you click a second edge, SpinFire Ultimate will then be able to calculate the boundary and determine the center point.

 Boundary Area by Edges

Measures the area of a boundary defined by connected edges. SpinFire Ultimate will automatically find the connected edges that form the boundary and then determine the boundary area.

You may need to click more than one edge for SpinFire Ultimate to be able to determine the boundary area. For example, if you click an edge on a cube, SpinFire Ultimate will not know which square boundary you want to define. When you click a second edge, SpinFire Ultimate will then be able to calculate the boundary and determine the area.

 Distance Between Two Surfaces

Measures the distance between two flat parallel surfaces.

If you select a second surface that is not flat and parallel to the first pick, an error message appears.

The attachment point from the first selected surface is projected onto the second surface.
