RELEASE PLAN
Our release schedule follows a frequency of one minor release every 6 weeks and we target at providing a major release every 12 months. In terms of versioning, we follow Semantic Versioning 2.0.0. Our distributions are provided using the format [MAJOR VERSION].[MINOR VERSION].[PATCH]
Major versions are game-changers : they contain API modifications that may not be compatible with existing code and this is also when we deprecate functions that have been marked as such in previous versions
Minor versions introduce new feature requests based on the given API and compile all bug fixes realized in previous patches.
Patches only include bug fixes, with no additional features or - of course - API changes.
Patches and minor versions are always backwards-compatible.
