APPEARS TO MEASURE THE ANGLE BETWEEN THE SELECTED AXIS AND A POINT ON A SURFACE - DON'T UNDERSTAND.
- Open the Smart Dimension menu on the 3D Document Toolbar. (How? Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the Smart Dimension icon. You should see a drop-down menu listing the available commands.)
- Select Smart Edge Dimension.
- Select an axis ?? or Normal.
GLEN: I don't understand what the dialog box means by "Pick an edge to do an edge measurement from the context menu." So Smart Dimensioning basically allows the user to free float their mouse over their model(s) and when something highlights the system gives the user a choice of different measurements they can do for that particular type of object (edge, surface, or point).
So to do this a user first must decide on which edge they want to perform an operation
Next the user can left mouse click on the highlighted edge they're hovering over to perform the default action or can right mouse click to get the context menu to choose one of the measurements they can perform on the edge. - Optional: Navigate to or enter a hyperlink to a file or a ???.
- Position your pointer over the edge whose ?? you want to measure. The edge is highlighted when the pointer is properly positioned.
- Click the highlighted line.
- Drag and click to position the label in the scene.
