The WorkSpace page displays models or drawings and allows you to manipulate and markup your documents.

The WorkSpace works in three modes:

  • 3D Mode - .3D files and all 3D CAD files

  • 2D Mode - 2D CAD formats, image files (.bmp, .jpg, .gif, .png, .tiff, .wmf, .emf), and snapshots taken of 3D models

  • File Mode - Other file formats, such as PDF, Microsoft Office, or text.

Explorer

 3D Document Explorer

Displays 3D file information depending on icon selection:

    • Assembly - The assembly tree which lists the subassemblies and parts that comprise a model. See #Working with Assemblies and Parts for details.
    • Markups - The Dimension and Note labels that have been added to a model, as well the username of the person who created them and the date they were last modified. See #Measuring and Annotating a Model for details. The Markups pane also lists the defined #coordinate systems.
    • Annotations - The PMI (GD&T) annotations in the scene.
    • Views - Available views. You can choose perspective or isometric projection, or select one of the standard views. You can save a "user view" of your own and select user views saved by others. See #Controlling the View for details.

 


 2D Document Explorer

 Displays file information depending on icon selection:

    • Drawing - Displays the
    • Markups - Lists the Dimension and Note labels that have been added to a model, as well the username of the person who created them and the date they were last modified. See #Measuring and Annotating a Model for details. The Markups pane also lists the defined #coordinate systems.

The model or drawing display area.

Document Tabs

Tabs indicating all the documents open in the WorkSpace. You can view one of the documents by clicking its tab. You can open the Document menu by right-clicking on a tab.
