Setting and changing coordinate system properties

Position a Coordinate System

 To rotate a coordinate system around an axis
  1. Open the Markups pane in the WorkSpace. (See The SpinFire Professional 11.0 User Interface and Browsers.) All coordinate systems are listed.
  2. Right-click the coordinate system. This can be done either on the Markups tab or the frame in the 3D scene.
  3. Click Properties.This opens the Coordinate System dialog box.
  4. Click the Rotation tab.
  5. Select an axis around which to rotate the coordinate system.
  6. In the Rotation value field, enter the number of degrees you want the coordinate system to rotate.

  1. Open the Markups pane in the WorkSpace. (See The SpinFire Professional 11.0 User Interface and Browsers.) All coordinate systems are listed.
  2. Clear or select the checkbox next to the name of the coordinate system.
 To set the active coordinate system
  1. Open the Markups pane in the WorkSpace. (See The SpinFire Professional 11.0 User Interface and Browsers.) All coordinate systems are listed.
  2. Right-click the coordinate system you want to make active.This can be done from either the Markups tab or the 3D scene.

  3. From the coordinate system context menu, select Active Coordinate System.

Note

A dimension markup takes its measurement with respect to the coordinate system that is active at the time the markup is created. When the active coordinate system changes, the dimension label will not change---it will still display the measurement with respect to the coordinate system that was active when the dimension was created.

HOW IS THIS USED?

 To delete a coordinate system
  1. Open the Markups pane in the WorkSpace. (See The SpinFire Professional 11.0 User Interface and Browsers.) All coordinate systems are listed.
  2. Right-click the coordinate system you want to delete. This can be done from either the Markups tab or in the 3D scene.
  3. Click Delete. A dialog box will ask you to confirm.

Note

The Global Coordinate System cannot be renamed.

 To rename a coordinate system
  1. Open the Markups pane in the WorkSpace. (See The SpinFire Professional 11.0 User Interface and Browsers.) All coordinate systems are listed.
  2. Right-click the coordinate system and select Properties.This can be done from either the Markups pane or in the 3D scene. This will open the Coordinate System dialog box.
  3. In the Name field, type the new name.
  4. Click OK.

Note

The Global Coordinate System cannot be renamed.

You may also rename a selected coordinate system by choosing Rename... from the right-click menu or pressing F2.
