titleCreate an Angular Dimension Markup

titleMeasure a three-point angle
  1. Open the Angular menu on the 3D Document Toolbar. (How? Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the Angular icon. You should see a drop-down menu listing the available Linear icon to see the menu of commands.)
  2. Select Select Three Vertices Angle. Red dots designate available points on the model.Optional: Navigate to or enter Points Angle.
  3. Optional:
    1. Select Lock tool to use the command more than once.
    2. Enter a hyperlink to a file or
    a ???.Click three points on the model
    1. to a document and user view within the current file.
  4. Position your cursor on the first point and click. (Crosshairs appear when you mouse over a selectable point.) The selected point is yellow.
  5. Select the second and third points. The second point you select will be the vertex point of the angle. Crosshairs indicate when the pointer is properly positioned over a point.
  6. Drag the label into position and click once.
  7. Optional:
    1. Click Copy to copy the markup content to the Windows clipboard.
  8. Click Stop when you're finished taking multiple measurements. Click Close (or X) to end the command and close the dialog box.

If red dots do not appear on the model when you call the command, you may need to go to the 3D Viewer Settings page and click the Points Visible on Picking checkbox.

You can measure the reflex angle by right-clicking the label and selecting Flip Axis from the context menu.

If you want to add several of the same type of markup, you may select the Lock tool checkbox that appears when you select a markup command. This will allow you to keep adding the same type of markup to the scene until you click StopOnce the markup label is displayed, you can also determine the reflex angle by using the Flip Axis command on the markup context menu. See Working with 3D Markups for information on using this command and the context menu.

  7. Click Stop when you're finished taking measurements; at this point, you can still copy the most recent measurement to the WIndows clipboard. Select Close (or X) to end the command and close the dialog box.

You can change or flip the direction of the axis segment used to form the angle by right-clicking the label and selecting Flip Axis from the context menu.

To change the main axis, mouse over the markup label and right-click to view the context menu.

    Examples of valid link paths include:

    To link to a user view, type the pound sign (#) followed by the name of the saved view.

    To link to another document within the .3D file, surround the name of the document with square brackets [ ]. For example, typing [Wheel] would open the Wheel document.

    If you would like to link a user view within a 3D document, add the pound sign # followed by the viewname. For example, typing [Wheel]#view2 would open the Wheel document and display the view named view2.

    SpinFire 11.0 will append the http:// protocol header to any relative link. Therefore, links to files must use an absolute path.

    To add or edit a description

    4. Click OK.The description will appear on the lable beneath the original measurement or note.

    To add or edit a comment

    3. Click in the Comments box and type your comment.
