If a license server is already in place, simply replace the current sfpflv2.dat file with the new one provided by the Actify license manager, then perform a Stop, Start, ReRead.

Next, verify that the license server is up and running:

If you have purchased an additional importer, an extra floating license, or have renewed your maintenance then you will need to update the server by updating its sfpflv2.dat which you should receive from Actify at every renewal. If you do not receive your updated file after

IMPORTANT - DO NOT IGNORE! - You must “Stop Server” in the lmtools (lmtools.exe) before changing the existing sfpfvl2.dat, otherwise, it will break the actifyd.exe and lmgrd.exe processes, which then need to be terminated via the task manager, at which point you can then Start Server and ReRead License File to resolve the issue.

  1. IMPORTANT! - Stop the Actify Floating License Manager Service in LMTools.exe, under Start/Stop/Reread tab

    1. If it does not stop, please enable the Force Server Shutdown checkbox and try again.

    2. If the service still does not stop, then open the Windows Services, search for the service name (Actifyd.exe and x2 lmgrd.exe processes), and stop them manually.

  3. Then copy/paste the new sfpflv2.dat to C:\Program Files\Actify\Floating License Manager

  4. Run lmtools.exe (same folder above)

  5. Perform a Stop, Start and Re-read.

  6. Navigate to the Service Status tab.

If, on startup, SpinFire Ultimate 11.0 does not locate the new license file in the spinfire11 folder, it will search for an existing SpinFire 10.x license file, working backward to version 10.0. If found, the license file is then copied to the spinfire11 folder.

Should this occur, /wiki/spaces/SF1100/pages/3233285414 may be required to update the license file expiration date
