With this checked, a user can select the beginning arc of a pipe and then the end arc of a pipe and SpinFire will attempt to automatically traverse the pipe for length measurement following all the straights and bends.


Before a user had to tediously select each arc from the beginning to the end. For long pipes this took a long time and if one made a mistake they would have to start over.

  1. Open the Advanced Linear menu on the 3D Document Toolbar. (Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the Linear icon to see the menu of commands.)
  2. Select Tube Length.

    The Tube Length Measurement dialog box provides the following options:
    1. Auto Complete - Signals SpinFire to automatically traverse the pipe — following all the straights and bends to determine its length. Selected by default.

      Note: If you choose to clear the checkbox, you will need to manually select each arc from the beginning of the pipe to its end. During selection, if a mistake is made, you will need to restart the selection process.

    2. Lock tool - Select to use the command more than once.
    3. Hyperlink - Enter a link to a file or to a document and user view within the current file.
  3. Position your cursor on the starting arc or circle and click. (Selectable arcs and circles are highlighted as you mouse over them.) The selected arc or circle remains highlighted.
  4. Continue to click arcs or circles that define the tube. A green line traversing the center of the tube indicates what will be measured.
  5. Double-click the last arc or circle to end the sequence.
  6. Drag the label into position and click once.
  7. Optional: Click Copy to copy the markup content to the Windows clipboard.
  8. Click Stop when you're finished taking multiple measurements. Click Close (or X) to end the command and close the dialog box.
