Measurement Tips

Selecting Arc Radii

Selecting each arc radii for on a piece of tubing can be difficult since the default view does not show any of the arcs. It is highly recommended to switch the Render Mode to Smooth Shading w/ Edges to reveal the arcs.See Change the Render Mode of an Object.Image Removed

arcs are not visible in the default view. (What is "default view"?)

To make the arcs visible, select Smooth with Edges from the render mode drop-down menu on the 3D Document toolbar.

See Working with Views.

Selecting an Incorrect Arc

If you select an incorrect arc by mistake, you must stop then restart your current measurement and redo it or the measurement measurement or the results may not be correct. One way to get around this

An effective workaround is to measure smaller shorter lengths and then export these lengths length values in the Tube Length Bill of Materials and use Excel add up the lengths in Excel. This allows simple, smaller measurements that are more tolerant to mistakes data. Shorter measurement errors are more tolerable to redo (i.e. - re-selecting 4 or 5 , reselecting four or five arcs is more acceptable managable than re-selecting reselecting 50 arcs).See Tube Length Bill of Materials.

To overcome this issueAlso, make sure 180-degree bends are split so it is measured in two piecesmeasurement .....

Known Limitations

Glen: Are these limitations still true?

180-Degree Bends

Because the Tube Length measurement functionality operates function depends on arc radii to measure, SpinFire cannot accurately measure a tube bend that is 180 degrees without dimensions for its calculations, an arc radius in must be defined within the bend . SpinFire cannot follow the bend and measures one side of the bend with a straight line to the other.Image Removed

Angled Cut Tubes

Tubes itself. Without this ??, measurement results are inaccurate.
