titleAdd a coordinate system
  1. Select the Markups browserpane in the WorkSpace. (See The SpinFire Professional 11.0 User Interface and Browsers.)
  2. Right-click Coordinate Systems to open the Coordinate Systems context menu.
  3. Click New Coordinate System to open the Coordinate System dialog box. (The default settings of a new coordinate systems are equal to those of the active coordinate system.) IS THIS TRUE?
  4. In the Name field, type a name for the coordinate system. 
  5. Click the Position tab to set the origin point.
  6. Click the Orientation tab to align the y-axis with an element in the scene.
  7. Click the Rotation tab to rotate the coordinate system about a selected axis.
  8. Click OK to save the new coordinate system.

  2. Right-click the coordinate system. This can be done either on the Markups tab or the frame in the 3D scene.
  3. Click Properties.This opens the Coordinate System dialog box.
  4. Click the Rotation tab.
  5. Select an axis around which to rotate the coordinate system.
  6. In the Rotation value field, enter the number of degrees you want the coordinate system to rotate.

A dimension markup takes its measurement with respect to the coordinate system that is active at the time the markup is created. When the active coordinate system changes, the dimension label will not change---it will still display the measurement with respect to the coordinate system that was active when the dimension was created.

titleTo focus on a coordinate system

A scene always contains the Global Coordinate System and may contain additional coordinate systems. The Focus command sets the origin point of a coordinate system to the center of your view.

  1. Right-click a coordinate system.This may be done either in the Markups pane or in the scene.
  2. Select Focus.

You may also call the Focus command by double-clicking the coordinate system listing in the Markups tab.

The Coordinate System Properties dialog box also has a button that calls the Focus command.

titleTo delete a coordinate system
  1. Open the Markups pane in the WorkSpace. (See The SpinFire Professional 11.0 User Interface and Browsers.) All coordinate systems are listed.
  2. Right-click the coordinate system you want to delete. This can be done from either the Markups tab or in the 3D scene.
  3. Click Delete. A dialog box will ask you to confirm.
